Shan Jiming, pen name Moyu, styled Moyu Shanfang, originally from Mancheng, Hebei, born in 1957, holds a university degree. He has served as factory director (general manager), Party committee secretary, and chairman of the board of supervisors in large state-owned enterprises directly under provincial administration. Passionate about calligraphy and painting since childhood, he frequently participates in training and online learning, and consistently studies theoretical aspects of calligraphy and painting. He has persisted in artistic practice for decades. Actively engaged in artistic exchanges to absorb nutrients and enhance his skills, his painting was tutored by the nationally renowned bird-and-flower painter Mr. Liu Zhiyi; his calligraphy studies involve copying classical works such as Yan Zhenqing’s “Duobao Pagoda Stele,” Zhiyong’s “Thousand Character Classic in Regular Script,” “Ji Wang Shengjiao Xu,” and Zhao Mengfu’s running script, among many other stele inscriptions and model calligraphy books. He received guidance in calligraphy from Mr. Liu Jin Kai, Vice Chairman of the Chinese Calligraphers Association and Chairman of the Hebei Calligraphers Association, as well as renowned calligraphers Mr. Wu Qingqing, Mr. Liu Debiao, and Mr. Liu Guoying. In September 2019, he published “Shan Jiming Calligraphy Collection” through Hebei Fine Arts Publishing House. After years of study and accumulation, his calligraphy and painting integrate his personal reflections and insights based on ancient traditions and the strengths of various masters, rendering his works more emotionally compelling. His artworks have been exhibited and awarded multiple times at national, provincial, and municipal exhibitions, and frequently published in periodicals above provincial level, receiving high praise from calligraphy and painting enthusiasts and professionals alike.
