Ji Hongtao, originally named Ji Dongguang, styled Hongtao, also known as the master of Baofeng Hall, is from Xingtai, Hebei Province.
      He has been immersed in family traditions since childhood and has a deep passion for painting and calligraphy. His initial mentor was He An, a painter who traveled to the United States. In 1996, he served in the Propaganda Section of the Political Department of the Xinjiang Military Region. In 1999, he was specially recruited into the People's Liberation Army Academy of Arts, where he studied under mentors Ren Huizhong and Miao Zaixin.

      He is currently a member of the Fine Arts Education Committee of the Chinese Society for Art Education, a member of the China Oil Painting Society, a member of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, a member of the Hebei Calligraphers Association, and院长 of Baofeng Hall Academy of Painting and Calligraphy. In 1997, his work "Gallop" was published in the People's Liberation Army Daily and the Political Work Herald. In 2011, he won first prize in a painting and calligraphy exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party. In 2006, his work "Eagle" was exhibited at Guangzhou Library and permanently collected. In 2016, he established the Baofeng Hall Academy of Painting and Calligraphy.
