Li Xiangmin, pen name Li Jian, styled Jingxin Zhai Zhu, also known as Yitong Lou Zhu, was born in 1957, holds a college diploma, Han ethnicity, hails from Wuqiang County, Hebei Province — a renowned hometown of Chinese New Year paintings. Currently serves as Director of the Chinese Calligraphy Masters Association, Secretary-General of the Hengshui Creation Center, member of the Hengshui Calligraphers Association, Vice Chairman of the Wuqiang County Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Deputy Secretary-General of the Collectors Association, Academician and Member of the Review Committee of the China Daleshou Temple Calligraphy and Painting Academy. Born into a family with a calligraphy tradition, he developed a deep love for calligraphy art from childhood under the influence of his elders and the rich local calligraphic atmosphere. From an early age, he showed strong interest in calligraphy, initially studying Tang dynasty regular script, then diligently practicing small seal script, Han dynasty clerical script, running script, and cursive script. He intensively studied the masterpieces of ancient calligraphers such as Wang Xizhi, Liu Gongquan, Yan Zhenqing, Mi Fu, Huaisu, Huang Tingjian, and Sun Guoting. His skills deepened progressively with age. He won first prize in the “Chinese Soul, Chinese Dream” Calligraphy Competition held by Hebei Normal University, with his work permanently collected by the university’s museum; received the Bronze Star Award in the Global Low-Carbon Environmental Protection Calligraphy Exhibition; won first prize in the Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition Celebrating the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China held at the Beijing National Art Museum; and earned numerous honors in multiple competitions including the Calligraphy Exhibition Celebrating the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
