 Wang Lei, artistic name Jin Shi, is from Raoyang County, Hebei. He began practicing inner painting art in 2008, studying under Master Fu Guoshun, a disciple of the inner painting grandmaster Wang Xisan and a National Master of Arts and Crafts.
       His inner painting covers a wide range of subjects, combining meticulous brushwork with freehand expression. The landscapes, figures, flowers, birds, animals, and insects he paints are all exquisitely rendered. His works demonstrate profound ink-and-brush mastery while embodying a distinctive contemporary spirit, earning acclaim from connoisseurs and collectors alike. Building upon traditional foundations, he integrates modern creative elements—preserving the Hebei School’s stylistic essence while absorbing strengths from other schools—to develop his own unique artistic style. His creations feature ingenious conception, balanced composition, rustic delicacy, noble elegance, refined brushwork, exquisite ink tones, and profound artistic connotations. Representative works such as “Auspicious Snow Foretells a Bountiful Year,” “Visiting Friends in the Snow Mountains,” “Prosperity,” and “Good Fortune Ahead” have received high praise within the inner painting community.In 2012, he was invited to perform live inner painting demonstrations at the Forbidden City and the Museum of Chinese History in Beijing, receiving high acclaim from domestic and international visitors. Many of his works have been collected by international friends from countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, and Singapore. He has frequently participated in provincial fine art exhibitions and national-level calligraphy and painting competitions, winning numerous awards.
       In 2014, he founded the Jin Shi Inner Painting Academy, providing an important platform for further research, advancement, and artistic exchange in the field of inner painting!
