Personal Profile

An Yanying, born in 1954, is from Ansongzhuang Village, Xingtai Nan'gong City, Hebei Province. Coming from a scholarly family, he graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Xingtai Normal School in Hebei in 1977. Since graduation, he has been engaged in calligraphy and painting for nearly fifty years. He currently serves as院长 of Xi'an Moyaxiang Calligraphy and Painting Academy, vice president of Jinan Calligraphy and Painting Academy, member of the Shaanxi International Calligraphy and Painting Exchange Association, and特邀calligrapher for Guanghan Lijun Pharmaceutical Factory in Sichuan. He is also a featured artist for Xi'an Hanshang Zunzhi Liquor Company. In 2016, he was awarded the title of Meritorious Calligrapher of Shaanxi Province. His calligraphy work "Qinyuanchun·Snow" won the gold prize in the Shaanxi Provincial Calligraphy Competition in 2016. After decades of practice in calligraphy and painting, An Yanying has developed his own unique style. His small six-foot and seven-foot running script versions of "Qinyuanchun·Snow" are especially loved and collected by people from all walks of life across the country. In just one month during the腊month of 2019, over 380 pieces of "Qinyuanchun·Snow" were sold. On December 26, 2020, the 127th anniversary of Chairman Mao's birth, a live streaming room in Xi'an sold out 34 copies of An's "Qinyuanchun·Snow." From 1 PM to 10 PM that day, Teacher An continuously wrote on blank scrolls, successfully fulfilling the wishes of collectors nationwide who sought his calligraphy of Chairman Mao's "Qinyuanchun·Snow." An Yanying has diligently practiced calligraphy since childhood, humbly studied the art, warmly treated others, enjoyed excellent reputation, and maintained a low profile. Traveling throughout China, he has generously created calligraphy works for people from various industries and backgrounds, earning widespread popularity among the public.
