Reading Xiao Bai's poems, one can visualize a painting; looking at Xiao Bai's paintings, it feels like there are hidden poems within the images.
Xiao Bai's colorful ink-wash paintings blend ink and color in a way that transcends traditional Chinese paintings while being distinct from Western oil paintings, often leaving viewers impressed!
Ink is essential to Chinese painting, and the essence of freehand Chinese painting lies in capturing the spirit and form of objects, adapting to their shapes. Xiao Bai’s colorful ink paintings use accumulated ink and splashed ink interchangeably, breaking through water, ink, and color. The abstract contains the concrete, and the concrete contains the abstract. In compositions that are full of space, she expresses the lyrical brilliance of ink and wash paintings.
Water and ink are two major elements of freehand painting. Xiao Bai uses water with great consideration, blending ink colors in a white porcelain dish, allowing the ink colors on paper to slowly diffuse. The transitions are as smooth as lines carved into sand, and the moisture levels are like traces of leaking rainwater on a wall. Besides controlling the realness and falseness, flatness and roundness of the brush tip, she also controls the dryness, wetness, and absorption of the paper perfectly. Black and white blend with rhythm, performing wonders.
Xiao Bai does not confine herself to rigid rules but seeks beauty beyond established norms, taking the best from various sources to form her unique style. From many perspectives, including观赏性和收藏价值, industry insiders call Xiao Bai a spiritual figure who follows the times with her brush and ink.
Unique landscapes and personalities transform into vitality and charm in her paintings. Xiao Bai’s ink impression is even more divine, with natural ink charm. Whether it's cute little birds, newborn kittens, or willful white geese, whether it's dancing branches or blooming flowers, they are all full of movement and interest, with ink flowing freely. Everything in Xiao Bai’s paintings is alive!
