     Li Daguang, master of Boxian Hall, is a member of the Chinese Couplet Society, visiting professor at Hebei University, member of the Hebei Calligraphers Association, contracted artist of Hebei Broadcasting and Television Station’s program “Traveling with Painters,” and Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of Pangu Calligraphy and Painting Academy.
      Since childhood, Li Daguang has been deeply passionate about calligraphy. He initially studied the styles of Liu Gongquan and Zhao Mengfu, later copying renowned masterpieces such as those by “Two Wangs” and Zhi Yong. He furthered his studies at the Training Center of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, receiving personal instruction and guidance from masters including Shen Peng, Ouyang Zhongshi, and Liu Yi. Particularly, he benefited immensely from the meticulous mentorship of the renowned calligrapher Quan Xijun. Drawing extensively from the artistic essence of various schools, his works have developed a distinctive style characterized by inwardly compact yet outwardly expansive structures, balanced spacing, elegant bone structure, and graceful fluidity. His calligraphy reveals beauty in simplicity and plainness, demonstrates profound skill in dignified solemnity, exudes extraordinary grace, and appeals to both refined and popular tastes, earning widespread admiration domestically and internationally.
Awards and Honors for Mr. Li Daguang’s Works:
      Awarded in dozens of exhibitions and competitions, including the inaugural “Chinese Soul” Calligraphy and Painting Competition and the 34th and 37th International Calligraphy Alliance Exhibitions in Tokyo, Japan;
      His calligraphy work “Essence, Energy, Spirit” was selected for the “Calligraphy Messages from 100 National Calligraphers for the Beijing Olympics” collection project and included in the grand Olympic documentary publication “Artistic Treasures of Olympic China”;
      His calligraphy work “Record of Yueyang Tower” was included in “Selected Calligraphy Works by One Hundred Masters from Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan,” and permanently collected by the Yueyang Tower Memorial Hall.
      Numerous works have been selected for inclusion in more than 20 major compendiums such as “Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese Artists,” “Who’s Who in the World,” “Masters of Our Generation,” and “Art China.” His works have been collected by institutions including the Chinese Olympic Committee, the Military Museum, the Capital Library, and numerous domestic and international art institutions and collectors, or presented as gifts to friends in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and over ten countries including Japan, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea, and India. His works have also been published or featured in specialized periodicals such as “Calligraphy,” “Calligraphy Guide Newspaper,” “Art and Collection,” as well as mainstream newspapers including “Beijing Daily,” “Popular Reading Newspaper,” “Chinese Poetry Newspaper,” and “Hometown Voice.” Television stations have produced a documentary titled “Calligrapher—Li Daguang,” which has been reposted online.
