Gu Xinren, styled Wuling Shanren, male, born in 1976, university-educated, from Binyang County, Guangxi, China. Member of the China Calligraphers Association, member of the Calligraphy Art Research Society, certified Intermediate-Level Registered Calligraphy Teacher by the China Calligraphers Association Examination Center, member of the China Calligraphers Association, member of the China Hard-Pen Calligraphy Association, member of the China Youth Calligraphers Association, council member of the Guangxi Youth Calligraphers Association, member of the Guangxi Youth Artists Association, member of the Nanning City Calligraphers Association, member of the Nanning City Hard-Pen Calligraphers Association, member of the Binyang County Calligraphers Association, and member of the Zhangcao Research Society. Studied under Master Wang Daming, a member of the studio of Hu Kangmei, Vice Chairman of the China Calligraphers Association. Enthusiastic about calligraphy since childhood, he has persistently studied calligraphy for over twenty years outside of work, taking Yan Ti as his foundation and integrating the brushwork of Shupu and the cursive script style of Pingfu Tie.
Artistic Achievements
In December 2012, his calligraphy work won the Third Prize in the 13th Nanning Municipal People's Congress Representative Excellent Painting, Calligraphy, and Photography Exhibition.
In September 2013, his calligraphy work won the Outstanding Award in the Nanning Township Cultural Federation Painting, Calligraphy, and Photography Exhibition.
In January 2014, his calligraphy work was selected for the First Nanning Fine Arts, Calligraphy, and Photography Excellence Exhibition themed "Chinese Dream. Beautiful Nanning".
On January 23, 2016, his calligraphy work "Family Harmony Brings Prosperity" was published in China Calligraphy and Painting Daily.
In September 2016, his calligraphy work won the Bronze Award in the 16th National "Lushan Cup" Calligraphy and Painting Competition.
In October 2016, his calligraphy work won the Gold Award in the National Calligraphy, Painting, Photography, and Poetry Art Competition themed "The Party Flag Flutters High".
In December 2016, his calligraphy work won the Outstanding Award in the 7th China Calligraphy and Painting Competition hosted by China Art Talent Network.
In December 2016, his calligraphy work won the Excellent Work Award in the 2nd National Calligraphy Art Online Competition hosted by the China Hard-Pen Calligraphy Association.
In December 2016, he participated in the Registration Teacher Examination hosted by the China Calligraphers Association Examination Center and was awarded the Certificate of Intermediate-Level Registered Calligraphy Teacher.
In January 2017, he participated in the Social Art Level Examination hosted by the China Calligraphers Association Examination Center and was awarded the Level 7 Calligraphy Certification.
In June 2017, his calligraphy work won the Gold Award in the "Celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army" National Calligraphy and Fine Arts Exhibition hosted by China Calligraphy and Painting Network Television Station.
In July 2018, his calligraphy work won the Bronze Award in the 2018 "New Era" National Poetry, Painting, Calligraphy, and Seal Carving Competition hosted by the China Hard-Pen Calligraphy Association.
In August 2018, his calligraphy work won the Gold Award for Outstanding Works in the Xi Jinping Quotations Calligraphy and Art Special Exhibition themed "Stay True to Our Original Aspiration and Keep Moving Forward," hosted by the Calligraphy and Art Committee of the China Culture and Arts Promotion Association.
In September 2019, his calligraphy and painting works were selected for the exhibition commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and Russia, and he was specially invited as an Art Ambassador for the 70th Anniversary of Sino-Russian Diplomatic Relations.
