Bao Junxian, born in January 1977,is a council member of the Haimen Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute of Beihai City, a member of the Beihai City Calligraphers Association,a council member of the Haicheng District Calligraphy and Art Association, and a Grade One teacher. He began learning calligraphy from his elder brother at an early age, studied brush techniques under Liang Chun at Guangxi University for Nationalities during college, and later participated in online classes led by Liu Xiao, Hu Fei, and others through Ink Pond. Transitioning from calligraphy to painting, he studied Xu Zhan's flower-and-bird ink paintings, then turned to horse and landscape painting. His regular script initially focused on the Ouyang Xun style, with additional study of Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan; his running and cursive scripts primarily emulate Wang Xizhi, Wang Xianzhi, Zhao Mengfu, Wen Zhengming, Mi Fu, and others. For many years, he has persistently practiced renowned ancient masterpieces, absorbing the strengths of numerous schools. His large characters are powerful and robust, rich and rounded, while his small characters are fluid and elegant. He has repeatedly participated in activities such as Spring Festival couplets going to rural areas, calligraphy benefiting the people, and calligraphy entering campuses, earning widespread acclaim from the public. His works have been exhibited and awarded multiple times, with some collected by overseas friends in the United States, Japan, and other countries.
