In 1984, he ventured into business, engaging in industries such as automobile transportation and gas stations, achieving modest success.
Since childhood, Liang Baowei has had a deep passion for calligraphy, and for the past two decades, he has regarded calligraphy as a source of personal joy and a cherished hobby, consistently carving out time to practice, thereby continuously elevating his calligraphic artistry. However, harsh reality presented him with a new challenge: an accidental injury resulted in the loss of his right hand. His lifelong pursuit of calligraphy thus had to begin anew from scratch. Liang Baowei’s calligraphy is distinguished by his left-hand technique; he excels in imitating ancient models of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi, and is proficient in regular, running, cursive script, and even Mao-style calligraphy. His brushwork is robust and precise, forming a unique personal style that is deeply evocative. The fluidity and naturalness of his strokes are deeply moving and admirable. His rendition of Wang Xizhi’s “Lanting Xu” stands out as his most cherished work. Numerous calligraphic pieces have been archived by Baidu Internet as “exquisite image displays.” Local business circles and the calligraphy community frequently invite him to create live works, and his “left-hand calligraphy” has astonished the art world. He has received recognition and praise from multiple renowned calligraphy masters and professors. His works have been adopted by numerous newspapers and media outlets and are treasured by prominent figures in society.
