Liu Xingquan, male, was born on December 13, 1962, in Guangxi Guilin, with the courtesy name Liu Ge. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Guangxi Arts College. He is a National First-Class Painter, Executive President of the China Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Institute, Vice President of the Guangxi Calligraphy and Painting Academy, and a researcher at the Guilin Calligraphy and Painting Academy. He has always used traditional Chinese painting as a medium to express his profound love for the magnificent landscapes of his motherland and his unique emotional connection to his hometown. His technique excels in brush lines, with fluid ink washes and vibrant colors, demonstrating profound artistic attainment; he also has a deep passion for poetry. Over the years, he has successfully held solo and group exhibitions in Beijing, Jiangsu, Shandong, Guangxi, Guangzhou, and other places, receiving widespread acclaim and high praise from calligraphers and fellow artists. His works are highly favored and collected by art enthusiasts in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.
His works have won the Outstanding Award in the 1998 International Ink Painting Competition, the Second Prize in the 1999 National Chinese Painting Competition, the First Prize in the "Eiffel Tower Cup" Competition, and the First Prize in the Second Singapore International Ink Painting Creation Competition.
In July 2010, commissioned by the Guangxi Artists Association, he participated in the "Transportation Cup: Colorful Guizhou Calligraphy and Painting Competition" and won the Gold Award. His work, "Golden Autumn Brook Melody," unveiled the mysterious veil of the ancient, enigmatic Yelang Kingdom, bringing him initial recognition. In 2013, his work "Majestic Gorges" was selected for the "Dahua Cup" National Art Grand Prize Competition, receiving unanimous praise and affirmation from fellow calligraphy and painting artists.
