Zheng Shiyi (the Master of Jingyuan), male, Han nationality, member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, member of the China Modern Painting and Calligraphy Masters Association, national first-class art master, president of Jingyuan Art Academy, vice president of Southern Art Academy, member of Shantou Calligraphers Association and Artists Association. Born in 1970 in Guangdong, from a traditional Chinese medicine family of "Yi Hu Tang", under the influence and education of his father, Zheng Guoshu, a Ph.D. in Traditional Chinese Medicine, he studied in a medical school and became the fifth-generation inheritor of "Yi Hu Tang". Growing up in a scholarly family, he started learning calligraphy and painting from an early age. Inspired by Qi Baishi's ink shrimp, he is skilled in the techniques of freehand ink shrimp. He once studied under famous artists Zheng Fuxuan, Wang Lanruo, and Chen Xizhen. His calligraphy imitates the works of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi, and he has studied the four great calligraphers. For his Chinese paintings, he learned from "Jieziyuan", absorbing the strengths of various masters and benefiting greatly. His calligraphy and painting works have participated in many domestic exhibitions and competitions, winning awards and being collected by organizers, government agencies, enterprises, and overseas Chinese in Southeast Asian countries. Zheng Shiyan is enthusiastic about public welfare. In June 2014, his calligraphy work "Thick Virtue Carries Things" (four-foot whole piece) was auctioned for 240,000 RMB by Mr. Guo, a business person, at the charity auction in Dalian, China. He has donated many times, donating calligraphy and painting works for charity sales and auctions to help the disadvantaged groups in society. Many media outlets have reported on him, receiving praise from all sectors of society.  In August 2015, he participated in the "Cultural Evening to Celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression" hosted by Shantou TV Station of Guangdong Province, and received a commemorative medal. He was also interviewed and reported by many news media. In December 2015, he went to the ancient city of Xi'an to attend the award ceremony hosted by the CCTV (CCTV) Brand Influence Column Group and the China Good Brand Committee, and was honored with the title of "Top Ten Calligraphers and Painters of China CCTV-2015". In February 2016, he was elected as the "Joint Initiator of China Brand Art Figures". In June 2016, he was selected to be included in the limited edition of 50 sets of the "Commemorative Postage Stamp Album of China Contemporary Calligraphers and Painters to Celebrate the 95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China" organized by the Ministry of Culture. On July 24, 2016, he accepted an interview from CCTV (CCTV) at the postage stamp launch ceremony held at the Shahe Base of the Central Military Commission in Beijing, and was awarded by leaders of the Ministry of Culture, the Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the China Postal Department.
