Personal Profile
Teng Yuanyuan, originally named Teng Jianyu, childhood nicknames: Teng Xiya Zi, Teng Xiao Zi, styled Xiao Zi, pseudonym “Poet Manyou.” Born on October 12, 1990, in Jiangxi Village, Group 7, Mayang County, western Hunan, China. From an early age, he studied calligraphy and poetry under his grandfather’s guidance, devoting ten years to mastering calligraphy. Having read the “Thousand Poets’ Anthology” since childhood, he developed a profound emotional connection with traditional Chinese poetry, calligraphy, and painting. Expressing emotions through poetry is Poet Manyou’s way of communicating with the world; expressing emotions through brushstrokes is also his way of communing with himself. Throughout his life, he steadfastly adheres to the bold, classical poetic style and the unrestrained, natural artistic creation of traditional calligraphy. In 2012, he founded the “Poet’s Paradise” literary exchange and sharing group. His passion for poetry is infused with deep sincerity—“Winds shatter the passing years; I await only beneath the exquisite moonlight.” With this pure-hearted creativity, many of his works have circulated widely within “poetry circles” and among the general public. Representative works include “China’s Phoenix · Southern Thousand-Mile Great Wall,” “Under the Setting Sun · Jiangxi Village,” “Elephant Trunk Hill · Playfully Sipping Water,” and “Ambition at Humen.”
