Personal Profile

Luo Mengji, male, born in March 1947 in Wubeilang Village, Xitou Town, Yangxi County, Guangdong Province. Holding a secondary teacher's degree, he is a senior art teacher, member of Yangjiang City Artists Association, and a director. At the age of 18, he studied "Jieziyuanguhua Pu", at 40 years old he took distance learning courses from the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Correspondence University, and at 60 years old he began his artistic journey, self-taught, which can be described as late blooming. His artistic principle is to draw on the past to open up the present, and to learn from others to establish oneself. His painting techniques involve using sketching, ink brushwork, and washes, incorporating calligraphy into painting. He was a disciple of predecessors such as Huang Binhong, Qian Songyan, Zhang Ding, and Wei Zixi.
