Personal Profile

Liu Ping, male, born in 1979, style name Xiangzhu, from Meizhou, Guangdong. Now resides in Hangzhou. Admitted to the Department of Fine Arts of Hunan Normal University in 1998. Graduated with a bachelor's degree. Studied under Jiang Xiaodi and Peng Ben, his tutor. Growing up in the simple and honest Hakka hometown, he has been nourished by the long history of ancestral culture, gradually accumulating his own experiences. His works reflect the depth of ancient Hakka culture and the profound national connotation. Liu Ping always believes that art creation cannot be separated from the understanding of life, sincere emotions, and the repeated training of skills. He advocates deep research into ancient methods and broad reference to other sources; pursuing the techniques of various schools without being bound by them; drawing on the spirit of predecessors and creating his own unique charm. Using modern painting concepts and traditional color techniques, he strives for a thick and dynamic visual effect, which is his pursuit of style. Liu Ping always believes that art creation cannot be separated from the understanding of life, sincere emotions, and the repeated training of skills. On the painting desk, when he repeatedly ponders and refines each image, each line, and each color, it is as sincere as the mindset of Tibetan people prostrating before the deity.
