Zhuang Yu

庄 Yu, native of Puning, Guangdong, graduated from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. He is a member of the China Zhigong Party, a director of the Shenzhen Nanguo Painting and Calligraphy Institute, a director of the Nanguo Painting and Calligraphy Association, executive director of Shenzhen 100 Degree Art Collection Institution, and a director of the Qianhai Cultural Development Co., Ltd. Since childhood, he has been diligently practicing painting and calligraphy under the guidance of his father Zhuang Lifen and his uncle, the famous Chaoshan painter Zhuang Lixian. He has been engaged in calligraphy and painting for thirty years. After graduating from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and starting work, he often visits Beijing, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Chaoshan and foreign masters to learn and exchange. He is skilled in Chinese painting, calligraphy, watercolor, creative design, and photography. His Chinese painting excels in freehand ink painting, with themes including flowers and birds, plum blossoms, orchids, bamboo, chrysanthemums, and still life. His still life Chinese paintings are bright in color, and they make a new exploration and reconstruction of traditional themes and scenes, using the brushwork of Chinese painting and the colors of watercolor and oil painting, giving a modern visual feeling. His calligraphy excels in regular script, running script, cursive script, and stele inscriptions. He is proficient in Tang dynasty regular script, especially Liu style, and also studies Yan and Ouyang styles. His running script is learned from Wang Xizhi, Wang Xianzhi, Mi Fu, and Huang Tingjian. His cursive script is learned from Huaisu and Zhang Xu, and his stele inscriptions are studied from Zhang Menglong Stele, etc.         He has worked in art and calligraphy education, plane advertising creative design, film and television advertising creativity, film art director, news photography reporter and editor, and professional painter. He is a young artist who has a wide range of interests and has explored the combination of pure art and applied art well. In recent years, he participated in the "Teacher-Student ZI 16 People Art Works" tour exhibition led by Teacher Pan He, which received praise from the art world and the collection community. His calligraphy, painting and photography works have been published in various art journals and exhibitions, and have been collected by many art museums and collection institutions.   In 2017, his works were selected by China Post to be published in a commemorative postage album celebrating the successful convening of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
