Li Yanwen, style name Muzi, pseudonym Wanshi. Currently the director of Jimei Pavilion Art Academy, member of Shenzhen Artists Association, academician of Qile Art Research Institute, and art director of Shenzhen Xidian Planning.Mr. Li Yanwen was born in 1959, grew up in Meizhou, the hometown of the Hakka people, by the banks of the Qinjiang River. From a young age, he has been deeply interested in painting. In his early years, he studied under the famous calligrapher and painter Ma Yushu, focusing on Chinese painting. He was recommended by Ma Yushu to study under Professor Liu Jerong from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. During this time, he also received guidance from many masters such as Chen Guang, Yang Zhiguang, and Lin Fengqing, and his painting techniques gradually matured.Mr. Li Yanwen has been engaged in artistic creation for more than 40 years. At the age of 13, his Chinese painting work "When I grow up, I will also smelt steel" was selected for the "World Children's Peace Painting Exhibition". In the 1980s, he created a large number of movie posters, watercolor paintings, and oil paintings. Among them, the work "The Little Mermaid" won the first prize in the "First Guangdong Provincial Movie Poster Exhibition". In the 1990s, he focused on Chinese painting creation, integrating Western drawing and color into ink and brushwork after studying extensively the works of famous masters (such as Shi Tao, Bada Shanren, Li Kecheng, Li Kuchan, Qian Songyan, etc.). Recent Chinese paintings such as "Spring in the Great Wall", "The Sun Rises in the East", and "Immortal Lotus" are characterized by strict composition, strong brushwork, and grand momentum. There is a fresh touch in the primitive style, and the flowers, birds, insects, and grasses are vivid and lifelike, with an endearing appearance, deeply understanding the essential techniques of ancient methods. The spirit and rhythm are transmitted with soul, often giving people a refreshing feeling. His portrait paintings are also his strengths. In recent years, he has created portraits of more than ten social celebrities, such as "A Genius of the Century - Mr. Chen Guokai" and "Ball King Li Huitang". The portraits are both physically and spiritually accurate, with concise brushwork and natural colors, accurately portraying the essence, energy, and spirit of the people. His rich experiences and unrestrained personality have formed his own artistic characteristics, and his works are highly recognized by experts.
Over the years, more than 100 works have participated in national, provincial, and municipal exhibitions, and have won multiple awards. Among them, in 2012, the four-screen work "Buddha's Light Illuminating Lotus" was selected for the "Second Buddhist Calligraphy and Painting Art Exhibition" and collected. "Ball King Li Huitang" was selected for the "Ball King's Sentiment - Qile Art Works Exhibition" and collected by the "Li Huitang Ball King Foundation". Mr. Li Yanwen's works strive to be appreciated by both the refined and the common people, taking the market as a guide, and always adhering to the principle of art serving society. He has successively created works for many units such as "Longgang TV University", "Guangzhou Tianhe Rural Commercial Bank", "Guangxi Third Construction Group", and "Boyi Gallery". He is especially skilled in creating works with feng shui themes and very large size works, as well as custom portraits, fully meeting the needs of society.
