Personal Profile

Bai Chengkun, 35 years old, from Beijing, graduated from the College of Urban Studies of Capital University of Economics and Business. He is currently the Executive Director of the China Military Construction Calligraphy and Art Research Institute (Beijing Branch), a family with a tradition of calligraphy and Buddhist art. On June 27, 2019, at the Zhen Guan International Hong Kong Spring Auction held at City Scene International Hotel in Hong Kong, Bai Chengkun's representative work "The Diamond Sutra" 25-meter scroll successfully found a buyer for 100,000 yuan, setting a new record for young mainland calligraphers at the Hong Kong spring auction. Under Bai Chengkun's initiative, the Beijing Branch of China Military Construction Calligraphy and Art Research Institute started the Copying Sutra Ceremony at 9:09:09 on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month in 2019 at Yunju Temple in Fangshan, Beijing. Bai Chengkun became the first person from a civilian group to apply for the Chinese Buddhist Copying Sutra Culture as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
