Personal Profile

Zhang Guokang, male, from Meizhou, Guangdong, graduated from the Department of Fine Arts of Jiaying University in Meizhou City. Member of the Chinese Calligraphy Association with Hard Pen, member of the China Cultural and Art Research Center, member of the Jinling Seal Society, member of the Dongguan Calligraphers Association, member of the Artists Association, standing director of the Dongguan Hard Pen Association, vice chairman of the Shupai Town Calligraphers Association, guest professor of the Duanshu Painting and Calligraphy Institute, and honorary president. He has been interested in calligraphy since childhood, carefully studied the regular script of famous masters such as Yan Zhenqing, Ouyang Xun, Liu Gongquan, Zhao Mengfu, and the running scripts of "E Wang", Mi Fu, Tang Bohu, Zhao Mengfu. He was a student of the renowned calligrapher Liao Yunyu, the calligrapher Liang Dingguang, Professor Lin Longhua, and national first-class calligrapher Huang Zhentong. For more than thirty years, he has continuously practiced calligraphy, especially skilled in regular, running, seal, and cursive scripts. He has drawn on the styles of various masters, blending them into one, possessing the spirit and bones of Yan, Ouyang, Liu, and Zhao, as well as the elegance of Wang Xizhi, occasionally showing the grace of Han dynasty seal script, and has incorporated elements of art, seal carving, and photography into his calligraphy creation. By drawing on the strengths of various schools, he has explored and sought, forming his own unique calligraphy style. He is known as the most collectible young calligrapher of today. His works have been exhibited in the Guangdong Provincial Exhibition, the First Dongguan "Quejin Cup" Integrity Calligraphy Exhibition, the First Dongguan Seal Script Exhibition, etc. He has participated in many domestic and foreign calligraphy competitions and won major awards. His works are included in various art dictionaries and collected by successful people. Special sections have been introduced in magazines such as "Calligraphy News" and "Hard Pen Calligraphy".
