Personal Profile

Gu Yongqing, style name Gu Bai, pseudonym Shanfu Xueyi, study room name "Bi Geng Tang", member of the China Democratic Revolutionary Committee. He once studied at the Central Academy of Arts and Design, and is a disciple of Professor Liu Juede, a famous Chinese painter and student of Wu Guanzhong, as well as a promising student of Professor Zhao Xun, a Chinese figure painter. He likes figure painting and also studies landscape and flower-and-bird painting. He is currently a senior art master of the state, vice president of the Sun Yat-sen Painting Institute of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the China Democratic Revolutionary Committee, guest professor at the Meizhou Normal College of Jiaying University, vice chairman of the Meizhou Association of Arts and Crafts, member of the Meizhou Artists Association, and president of the Meizhou Committee of the China Democratic Revolutionary Committee's calligraphy and painting institute. In 2015, he participated in the "Third National Integrity Culture Construction Art Exhibition" organized by the China Artists Association. His work "The Eternal Righteousness" was selected for exhibition and won the excellent award. In 2016, invited by the Meixian Chamber of Commerce of Shenzhen, he created a large-scale Chinese painting "Emotion to Hometown" about Ye Jianying. It received high praise and collection from Ye Xuanping, former vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Zou Jiaguo, former vice premier of the State Council, who praised Teacher Gu Yongqing as "the painter who best captures both the form and spirit of General Ye." In 2019, he successfully held the large-scale art exhibition "Ink Fragrance Welcomes a Prosperous Era - Remembering the Original Aspiration and Singing the Party's Gratitude" in Meizhou, Guangdong. His works that integrate the styles of the northern and southern schools are deeply loved by people and collected by collectors.
