Personal Profile

Zhang Jianping, male, from Longchuan, Guangdong, with a university education, a military art and calligrapher, "Military Film and Television People", a first-class artist of the state, a member of the Communist Party of China, a retired civil servant. He once served as a special painter for the Yellow River Painting and Calligraphy Network. In October 2020, he ranked in the top three with his superb artistic skills and was included in the "Chinese Art Masters" album. Influenced by his family's traditional heritage, he has been passionate about calligraphy and painting since childhood, studying them for more than 40 years. In the army, he once studied at the Art Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Academy. In his early years, he was engaged in the production of army propaganda slides and movie posters. He is skilled in regular script, running script, and seal script calligraphy, and is proficient in meticulous brushwork and freehand flower and bird paintings. He has a solid foundation in portrait drawing. His works are vivid, realistic, and lifelike. His works have won awards in many calligraphy and painting exhibitions inside and outside the military, and have received consistent praise from a wide range of calligraphy and painting enthusiasts. In 2019, he was invited to the United States to participate in a calligraphy and painting exhibition organized by the Chinese Association Federation. His exhibition works have received high attention from overseas Chinese and foreign friends.
