Currently serves as an advisor of the California Art Association in the United States and is a professional painter.
Skilled in oil paintings such as "scenery, landscape, street night scenes, figures, animals, abstract", with bold brushstrokes and vibrant colors, forming his unique oil painting style.
His works have participated in domestic art exhibitions, been exhibited abroad, held individual exhibitions, and received national and international awards.
Artistic Life
In 1980, he entered the art class of the Shantou region in Guangdong Province, where he was trained by master painters of the Lingnan School: Liu Changchao, Xie Haiyan, Zheng Zeyou, etc. He studied diligently and practiced painting.
In 1985, he began to study and research in the oil painting major at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. He studied together with his senior Zhang Bingguang (now a master of Asian craftsmanship), encouraging each other and persisting in creative practice and research.
In 1987, Wang Shaokun came to Dafeng Village in Shenzhen, attracted by a group of painters engaged in Western painting creation, and started to engage in oil painting research, continuously creating and practicing, going into nature, leaving his mark in various places in China, and his sketching and creation works were highly praised by famous painters Li Shuqi, Huang Pingshan, etc.
In 1990, he was taught by the renowned American contemporary oil painter Daniel Gerhartz, and his painting skills improved significantly. His works were collected by many art masters, especially receiving high evaluation and collection from Governor Richardson of the State of Mexico, and he was honored as one of the most outstanding original artists in the United States.
From 1993 to 1999, he founded the "Shantou Oil Painting Company", learned with a group of close friends who loved painting, and carried out "Impressionist" oil painting creation and received American oil painting order creations.
Since 2000, he has served as a supervisor and director at the Yaya Oil Painting Company in Dongguan City, and has trained a batch of excellent young people who love painting.
In 2003, he held an exhibition in the Hall of Dafeng Village, Shenzhen, and received high evaluation and collection from Mr. Huang Jiang (founder of Dafeng Village, Shenzhen) and others.
In 2007, his work "My Impression of America" won an award at the oil painting exhibition in Texas, USA, and was collected by the local oil painting museum.
In 2010, he held a Shao Kun Art Exhibition upon the invitation of local celebrities, which was warmly pursued by people who like oil paintings.
In 2016, Shao Kun was invited by Jieyang TV Station for a special report on the program, which caused high attention and concern.
