Gao Jinwen

Gao Jinwen, styled Yishu, also known as Hanweng of Longshan and master of Jingxian Studio, was born in February 1950 in Minle County, Gansu. He has been passionate about calligraphy since childhood, influenced and guided by his elders, and extensively practiced renowned steles and rubbings from various dynasties. Later, under the guidance of renowned calligraphers such as Zhao Shengwan, Zhai Wanyi, Ma Guojun, and Qiu Zi from Gansu, he further deepened his understanding and refined his art. He is currently a member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, Beijing Huaxia Lanting Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, member of the Gansu Feitian Calligraphy and Painting Association, member of the China Western Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Secretary-General of the Zhangye Silk Road International Famous Artists Calligraphy and Painting Association, member of the Zhangye City Calligraphers Association, and member of the Minle County Calligraphers Association. His works have won awards including: the County Forestry Cup award in 2013 to commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China; an Excellence Award in January 2014 for the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Minle Committee of the County People’s Political Consultative Conference; a Bronze Award in August 2014 at the China Chongyang Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition; a Gold Award in July 2015 at the First National Silk Road Cup; a Silver Award in September 2015 at the Tenth National Lushan Cup; an Excellence Award in September 2015 for the Fifth Gansu Province Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition on the Theme of “Chinese Dream, Science and Technology Dream”; an Outstanding Award in October 2017 at the China-Australia Twin Cities Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition jointly hosted by the Kaifeng Sotheby’s Cultural Development Center and the Australian Calligraphy Association; and a Gold Award in October 2017 at the Seventeenth National Lushan Cup Calligraphy and Painting Competition.
