Wang Yi, male, also known as Qilian Snow and Danxia Ink Man, was born in Zhangye, Hexi Corridor, Gansu, renowned for its colorful Danxia landform. Member of the Ink and Wash Art Academy, China Education Television; Committee Member of the National Federation of Famous Artists for Promoting Traditional Chinese Culture; Director and Deputy Secretary-General of the Hubei Branch of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association; Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Professional Calligraphers and Painters Association.
 
Since childhood, he has been deeply passionate about calligraphy and painting. In the early 1980s, he studied under the renowned Gansu master Huang Hanqing. For thirty years, he has persistently practiced without pause, diligently studying classical steles and rubbings of Wang Xizhi, Wang Xianzhi, Zhao Mengfu, and others, with a particular fondness for running and cursive script. His calligraphic style is elegant and free-spirited, grand and bold—possessing both the refined elegance of traditional literati calligraphy and the vigorous, unrestrained, and expressive vitality characteristic of contemporary art.

Second Prize in the Third "Xilangdao Cup" Spring Festival Couplets Competition
In October 2016, his calligraphy work was collected and published by China Post in limited and collector’s editions.
In November 2016, he won the Third Prize in the "1272 Yōuyōu Cānghǎi Qíng" Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition; in December, he was selected as one of the "2016 China Good Brand ☆ Brand Influence Calligraphers".
In May 2017, his works were collected and published by China International Philately Network in a limited collector’s edition, and he was honored with the title "Master of Contemporary Chinese Calligraphy and Painting in Celebration of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China".
In July 2017, he participated in the Top 100 Chinese Artists in Calligraphy and Painting competition and won the Third Prize; he was also granted eligibility to participate in the Dubai Expo 2020.
