Tuo Jiliang

Tuo Jiliang, male, Han ethnicity, was born in September 1969 in Zhenyuan County, Qingyang City, Gansu Province, a hometown of Chinese painting and calligraphy art. Since childhood, he has studied under family instruction and excelled in both painting and calligraphy. He has long been passionate about learning Chinese painting and calligraphy, diligently studying the works of masters from all fields. He is skilled in landscape, floral-bird, and figure painting, with a style that integrates Eastern and Western techniques, constantly evolving, and combining freehand brushwork with meticulous detail. His artworks are grand in momentum, precise in ink and brushwork, simple yet elegant, and frequently innovative. Over the past decade, adhering to the principle of reaching both toward tradition and life, he has severed secular distractions, extensively studied classical masterpieces throughout history, meticulously researched timeless classics, and consistently maintained outdoor sketching. His devotion and obsession with art have led him to profound insights into artistic principles, resulting in a qualitative leap in his artistic realm; in recent years, he has produced an abundant body of work. In October 2017, he participated in the "Celebrating the 19th CPC National Congress, Forever Following the Party" Zhenyuan County Mengba Town Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition, where his work was selected for display; in November 2017, he won the Outstanding Award at the "Zhang Zerui" Online Painting and Calligraphy Competition hosted by the Kaifeng Sotheby’s Cultural Arts Development Center; he also received an Outstanding Award in the 2017 Painting and Calligraphy Art Competition. In 2018, he won the Second Prize at the "Jiade Cup" Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition. In 2018, he conducted on-site exchanges in towns, townships, and villages across Zhenyuan County, enriching rural culture. In recent years, his works have been exhibited multiple times and have won numerous awards. He has been honored with the titles of "Contemporary Painting and Calligraphy Artist" and "Outstanding Painting and Calligraphy Artist of Qingyang" by the Qingyang Calligraphy and Painting Artists Association, the Qingyang Painting and Calligraphy Artists Association, and the Qingyang Art Masters Association. His works are frequently exhibited in Qingyang City and other areas, highly favored and acclaimed by painting and calligraphy enthusiasts, and collected by numerous institutions and individuals.
