Personal Profile

Li Dongdong, born in the 1990s, is from Cheng County, Gansu. He graduated from Xi'an Shiyou University and began studying under the renowned calligrapher and painter Mr. Tian Rongjun in 2012. He is currently a member of the Longnan City Calligraphers Association. Having studied calligraphy since childhood under family instruction, he specializes in running and cursive script. He initially studied the styles of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi, later focusing primarily on Mi Fu and Wang Duo. His works feature structures that appear regular yet unexpectedly unconventional, with diverse forms and a perfect blend of shape and spirit. The composition exhibits strong, dynamic rhythms, passionately pursuing the artistic appeal of "wind-swept walls and charging horses—firm, decisive, and exhilarating." In 2013, he held a personal calligraphy and painting exhibition at Xi'an Shiyou University. His works have won the First Prize in the Shaanxi Linchi Cup University Tour Exhibition; an Outstanding Award in the 11th China Calligraphy and Painting Competition; in 2017, his work was exhibited in the Cheng County United Front Exhibition on Studying and Implementing the Spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC; and in 2019, his work was exhibited in the Longnan City "Beautiful China, Ecological Longnan" Calligraphy, Painting, and Photography Exhibition.
