Zhang Tingjun, styled Gui Mo, with the courtesy name Ru Ming, was born in February 1976 in Sunjiapo, Lianda Township, Yuzhong County, Lanzhou City, Gansu Province. Influenced by his family's tradition, he developed a deep passion for calligraphy from an early age. During his school years, he extensively copied renowned ancient calligraphy masterpieces, laying a solid foundation. After entering the workforce, he devoted several hours daily to copying classical scripts, continuously exploring and learning, and through years of diligent practice, he absorbed the strengths of various styles. Over time, he developed his own distinctive style in seal script and running script. His running script, in particular, has been entered in numerous competitions and has received widespread recognition from all sectors of society and friends. Calligraphy is a unique artistic expression of textual beauty specific to China and other neighboring countries and regions deeply influenced by Chinese culture. It includes Chinese character calligraphy, Mongolian script calligraphy, Arabic calligraphy, and more. Chinese calligraphy, in particular, is a traditional art form unique to Chinese characters. Broadly speaking, calligraphy refers to the principles and rules governing the writing of written symbols; in other words, it involves writing according to the characteristics and meanings of the characters, using specific brush techniques, structure, and composition to transform them into aesthetically pleasing artworks. Chinese character calligraphy is a uniquely Han Chinese artistic expression, hailed as: "poetry without words, dance without movement, painting without images, music without sound."
