 Personal Profile
 Li Xinglin, Hui ethnic group, was born in 1971 in Zhangjiachuan Hui Autonomous County, Gansu Province. He graduated from Zhangjiachuan Arabic Language School in 1994.
He has loved calligraphy and painting since childhood and has been self-taught throughout his life. Later, he served as teaching assistant at Yan Quan's studio at the Academy of Arts & Design, Tsinghua University, and studied under Du Wei, a specially聘ed painter at the Calligraphy and Painting Institute of Minzu University of China and Vice President of the Western Flower-and-Bird Painting Academy.
Currently holds the following positions:
Member of Gansu Provincial Artists Association;
Director of Zhangjiachuan Artists Association;
Vice Chairman of Zhangjiachuan Shuguang Orphanage;
Invited Painter of Guanshan Calligraphy and Painting Academy.
In March 2006, two works titled "Arabian Nights" and "Freehand Peony" were published in Issue 19 of the quarterly journal "Chinese Muslim Poetry, Calligraphy and Painting".
In 2008, he won the "Third Prize" in the Fifth National "Art Star" Competition hosted by Wen Yi Life Magazine.
He was awarded the "Excellence Award" in the "First China Peony Art Forum and National Peony Poetry-Calligraphy-Painting Creation" event organized by the Ancient Style Poetry-Calligraphy-Painting Academy of Henan Province.
He has successively organized several "Flower-and-Bird Painting Invitational Exhibitions", published the "Album of Li Xinglin's Flower-and-Bird Paintings" and "Contemporary Flower-and-Bird Painting Collection – Volume of Li Xinglin", and held solo exhibitions in Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Guangzhou, Sichuan, Malaysia and other places. His works were selected for publication in "China Calligraphy and Painting News · 2013". The piece "Lotus Pond Charm" won the "Silver Award" in the 14th National "Lushan Cup" Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition held in 2014.
Many of his works have been collected multiple times by art enthusiasts across the country. Among them, his Arabic calligraphy was collected by Mr. Rozman, Member of Parliament of Labuan Island, Malaysia.
