Personal Profile

Xing Mingxue, from Weifang, Shandong, China, pen name Huabaoxuan, was born in 1962 and specializes in freehand ink-and-wash flower-and-bird painting and large-scale splashed-color ink landscapes.
Mr. Xing Mingxue has been passionate about calligraphy and painting since childhood and is a direct disciple of the renowned master Shi Lin (real name Yi Zhi Yan Ru), the founder of the new school of snowscape Chinese painting. Master Shi Lin was once ranked among the "Top Ten Calligraphy and Painting Figures of China" alongside Liu Bingsen, Han Meilin, Qi Gong, Shen Peng, and Liu Guosong, and is widely regarded as "holding up half the sky of Chinese calligraphy and painting."
