 Shi Yi, pen name Kuan Shi. Born in Xiamen in December 1963. Second-generation direct disciple of Fu Baoshi. In 1980, enrolled at the College of Arts and Crafts, Fuzhou University, studying under the renowned Chinese landscape painter Mr. Yang Xialin. Inheriting Mr. Yang Xialin’s Min-style landscape painting tradition. Long engaged in the exploration and teaching of Chinese painting, integrating his own style on the foundation of traditional techniques. His works combine meticulous detail with freehand brushwork, featuring fluid brushstrokes, full compositions, clear layers, interplay of emptiness and solidity, emphasizing the integration of realistic depiction and formal artistic treatment, displaying boldness infused with delicacy. His subjects often reflect Minnan culture and local customs, portraying regional scenery and character, expressing affection for contemporary life. His works have received widespread acclaim.  Currently a member of the Xiamen Artists Association, Board Director of the Yang Xialin Art Foundation, Academician of Dashang Academy of Fine Arts, and member of the Zhang Xiaohan Art Research Society.
