Xia Xunhong, born in 1953, is from Pucheng, Fujian Province. His pen name is Song Gong; he is a teacher. He is currently a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Artists Association, the China Contemporary Famous Calligraphers and Painters Association, the Chinese Mao Style Calligraphy Artists Association, an outstanding artist of the New Great Wall of China, a national first-class calligrapher, a member of Contemporary Calligraphers Network, a director of Beijing Contemporary Calligraphy and Painting Academy, a famous painter of Beijing Qindezhai Calligraphy and Painting Academy, an invited artistic master of Sydney Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Academy in Australia, a special artistic ambassador for the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia, an academician of the China National Arts People's Calligraphy Academy, a key recommended people's artist by the National Two Sessions, a member of the Central State Organs Calligraphers Association, a member of the China Leaders Network Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute, and a contemporary inheritance art master of CCTV. Teacher Xia Xunhong has been fond of calligraphy since childhood. In his work position, he studied and practiced regular script, running script, and cursive script while teaching. Among many styles of calligraphy practice, he particularly showed great interest in Chairman Mao's majestic, natural, and elegant poetry calligraphy. In his spare time, he extensively read materials about Chairman Mao's calligraphy and continuously practiced to accurately grasp its essence, form, and authenticity. He aims to showcase Chairman Mao's calligraphy in today's society, allowing more people to admire it and deeply remember Chairman Mao's great achievements and profound knowledge.
