Personal Profile

Qiu Lusheng, styled Qiuyu, was born in November 1959 in Shanghang County, Fujian Province—a thousand-year-old Hakka county renowned as the "Hometown of Painting and Calligraphy." He is a recipient of the honorary title "National Outstanding Statistical Worker in Industrial Enterprises" awarded by the National Bureau of Statistics; an artist affiliated with the "Qiu Lusheng Studio" under the China Popular Literature and Art Research Association · China Art Masters; and a specially appointed academic advisor and featured artist for the Collecting Heaven National Digital TV Channel. Currently, he serves as Vice President of the China Taishan Calligraphy and Painting Academy and Vice President of the Henan Jinfang Calligraphy and Painting Academy; Deputy Secretary-General of the China Huaxia Wanlixing Calligraphers and Painters Association; and a calligrapher at the Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute of the China Rural Cooperation Federation under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. He is a National First-Class Artist. His clerical script exhibits profound foundation, pure and dignified style, and elegant aesthetic quality. His works have repeatedly participated in, been exhibited at, and won awards in domestic and international calligraphy and painting competitions.
