Personal Profile
Yang Xianshan, male, Han nationality, born in 1963, has a university education and graduated from Hohhot Normal School. He has been engaged in art education and teaching in primary and secondary schools. Currently an academician of the Chinese Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, a director of the Chinese National Academy of Painting and CalligraphyInner MongoliaMember of Ancient Calligraphers Association, Academician of Inner Mongolia Law Society Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Member of Hohhot Calligraphers Association, Member of Hohhot Artists Association, Chairman of Hohhot Saihan District Calligraphers Association, and Visiting Professor of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University.
Since the 1980s, Mr. Yang Xianshan has been dedicated to theoretical research and skill training in art and calligraphy. He studied under watercolor master Chen Haigen and oil painting master Yi Jing, and participated in six training sessions at the Chinese Calligraphers Association Training Center, receiving guidance and authentic teachings from calligraphy and painting teachers such as Zhang Shigang, Liu Hongbiao, and Zhang Xuguang. For over thirty years, Mr. Yang Xianshan has been persevering, making unremitting efforts, innovating and reforming, and has unique insights and achievements in calligraphy and painting. On the basis of inheriting and carrying forward the existing calligraphy and painting in China, he constantly explores the path of reform, innovation, and development, dares to break through the folk reality of writing methods, and returns calligraphy to the ancients and tradition. He took Wang Xizhi's calligraphy calligraphy as a benchmark, studied it carefully, and took Su Shi and Mi Fu's unique insights in the field of calligraphy as mentors, carefully exploring the essence of Wang Xizhi's calligraphy.
Mr. Yang Xianshan is persistent, tireless, diligent in learning and practice, and seeks to explore from top to bottom. His works have innovated and developed on the basis of inheriting tradition and promoting classics, and have embarked on a unique new path of calligraphy and painting of his own.
