Chen Weidong, born in 1969Inner MongoliaGu, Master of Jirui Xuanxuan, also known as Xuantong, is a painter who expresses ink and wash imagery. Graduated from the School of Art at Inner Mongolia University in 1994 as a disciple of artist Ulige, and became a disciple of artist Kongshanren in 2016. Vice President of China Banqiao Calligraphy and Painting Academy, Director of China Buddhist Culture Artists Association, Academician of China Buddhist Art Calligraphy and Painting AcademySichuanDirector of Wenchuan Calligraphy and Painting Academy, member of Sanmenxia Buddhist Research Association, and honorary consultant of Hangzhou Xiaoshan Wentai Calligraphy and Painting Society. I have been learning painting since I was young, initially focusing on expressive oil painting, and also working in graphic design, architectural decoration design, and sculpture. I specialize in calligraphy and traditional Chinese painting. Emphasize the expression of the inner world, take the spirit of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism as its artistic foundation, and pursue a natural state of creation. The carefree style of the Wei and Jin dynasties is reflected in character, landscape, and flower and bird paintings. You are skilled in interpreting figure paintings. Admire the sages such as Qingteng Baiyang, the Eight Great Masters, Dang Ren, Huang Binhong, Qi Baishi, Wu Changshuo, etc. The art style is constantly changing. Calligraphy is based on the style of the Two Kings' calligraphy, and is also proficient in Han, Wei, and Six Dynasties inscriptions. It features ancient bronze inscriptions and has a special fondness for the majestic cliff carvings along the way. I enjoy literature and music, and love books as much as my life. 空灵与厚重的交替

      也许,初读陈卫东的作品,不必探究人物结构的比例关系,更不能用常规的眼光去审视其表达的神韵。单是惜墨如金、点到为止的技法,就会把淡泊名利的无为之境引喻到极致。
      禅的境界如茶,在淡雅中升华;在无形中具象; 在忘我中顿悟;在简单中繁盛;在厚重中空灵;在变幻中守真……
      多少年的传统文化中蕴含了万宗归一的哲理,这在陈卫东的禅意画中表现的淋漓尽致。就像汉字中的“一”,既是最小的数字,也是最大的数字,大到多大?,“一统天下”!
      从烂醉如泥的钟馗到自在悠闲的布袋;从静观棋局的鹤发到生火煮茶的童顔......寥寥数笔,神形皆备,清新自然,意味深长。既已触及无限的暇思,何需浓墨重彩繁资?
其实,审美的不破之理:由繁至简。通俗地讲,简单就是美!不是一味地、毫无根据地追奉所谓的“极简主义”。因为"简约”不通于“简单”。只有达到“大象无形、大音希声”的境界,才是禅意画的精髓。 
      一花一世界,一叶一菩提
忘却自我,在淡墨枯笔法的禅意中追求厚重与空灵的统一。
