Xue Fangming, female, Beijing native, courtesy name Wan Yi, master of Qingyun Studio. Member of the China Artists Association, national gift calligrapher and painter, senior national calligraphy and painting instructor, senior academician of the China Red Calligraphy and Painting Academy, vice president of the Jinggangshan Painting Academy, member of the Beijing and Dongcheng Calligraphy and Painting Associations, member of the Xicheng Calligraphy and Painting Association, and member of the Beijing Scientific Research Institutes Fine Arts Association. Member of Huaxia Wanlixing Calligraphy and Painting Association. Has been passionate about painting since childhood. In the 1970s, she had the honor of receiving instruction and enlightenment from Master Li Kuchan, followed by guidance from Teacher Ma Quan of the Beijing Academy of Fine Arts, laying a solid foundation in painting.
The preferences of childhood, the dreams of youth, and the interests of middle age have merged into a continuous force for learning. She studied linear landscape painting with Teacher Duan Junchuan, learned the transformation of landscape brushwork and ink language with Professor Zhu Ling from Tsinghua Academy of Fine Arts, studied figure painting in the advanced research class of Teacher Ma Haifang on the Calligraphy and Painting Channel, and studied at the China Institute of Flower-and-Bird Painting while participating in field sketching and creation activities organized by the China Blue-Green Landscape Painting Academy in the Taihang Mountains. Currently, she is studying under Master Sun Yongyu, a successor of the late Master Dong Shouping. Cultivating a serene mind to contemplate the Dao, diligently pursuing goodness, practicing with simplicity and agility, she creates works rooted in traditional painting, promoting the spirit of Chinese traditional brushwork and ink, and praising the beauty of nature. Through her studies and practices in landscape, flower-and-bird, and figure painting, she seeks the realm of unity between heaven and humanity—characterized by naturalness, freshness, simplicity, generosity, and restraint—creating works imbued with profound flavor. In the exhibition commemorating the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, featuring one hundred calligraphers and painters, she was awarded the Special Gold Medal, Third Place. She has participated in numerous art exhibitions and won awards multiple times. She believes in lifelong learning, using a single brush to transform emptiness into substance, conveying spirit through the void, embodying the Dao to reflect all things. She aspires to freely express herself within the harmony of humanity and nature, striving to create noble and spiritually uplifting artworks.In the exhibition celebrating the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China / One Hundred Calligraphers and Painters, she was awarded the Special Gold Medal, Third Place.
