Personal Profile

Wang Shihai was born on November 25, 1951, in Guanzhuang, Chaoyang District, Beijing. Since childhood, he has been passionate about painting horses, deeply influenced by the horse-painting masters Ma Jin and Liu Xin'an. He specializes in meticulous-style horse paintings and received direct instruction from Master Liu Xin'an. For many years, he has devoted himself to the research and creation of horse painting, particularly studying the techniques and theories of the master Xu Beihong. Over the decades, thousands of his works have been collected by private collectors, and the horse pattern featured on the postal stamp issued by the market was also provided by his original artwork. In recent years, he has participated in domestic and international auctions, with many of his works collected by overseas enthusiasts, and he has repeatedly created large-scale "Eight Famous Horses" paintings for entrepreneurs.
