Du Jianmin, male, style name Jingmo Xuanzhu, was born in January 1960 in Beijing city. He has been passionate about calligraphy since childhood. He is currently a member of the Central National Agency Calligraphers Association, a guest professor of art and calligraphy at North China University of Technology, a member of the Board of Directors of the Chinese Hard Pen Calligraphers Association, a member of the Board of Directors of the China Zhongxing Art Academy, a consultant of the Beijing Longgu Mountain International Art Academy, a guest artist of the Beijing Renhe Art Museum, and a member of the Art Committee of the World Federation of Overseas Chinese Associations. His works have been selected for the "National Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition for the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the Party"; "National Minority (Minzu Palace) Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition"; in 2005, eight of his works successfully entered the "Beijing Strength Eleven Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition"; he has won the title of "Outstanding Talent" by the China's 21st Century Hard Pen Calligraphers Association; the "Rongyao Zhumeng China - Deyi Cup First Internet Calligraphy and Painting Works Competition" Outstanding Award; and recently, he won the third prize in the 7th China Paint Competition, etc. The achievement in calligraphy is due to the careful guidance of his early teachers Wang Shulin (deceased famous calligrapher), Miao Peihong (CNSA), Cheng Maquan (Chunyi), Li Shuqi (Master of One Stroke Gou Bai), Yan Ruimin, Jing Wei (art name: Laojing, China Buddhist Association), Jing Weiping, Zhou Shengzun and other calligraphy masters, as well as the chairman of the Beijing Fangshan District Calligraphers Association, Hou Zhenhai. For many years, he has continuously practiced copying ancient scripts, cultivated himself with patience, and his calligraphy works highlight the stability with richness, the fluency with dignity, and the individuality in the brushwork, based on the essence of Zhao's style and the masterpieces of various calligraphy masters.
