Personal Profile

Fan Zeng, a renowned scholar, philosopher, master of Chinese learning, great master of Chinese painting and calligraphy, writer, and poet. Currently the Director of the Chinese Painting Research Institute of Peking University, a Lifetime Research Fellow of the China Academy of Art, the only Lifetime Professor at Nankai University and Nantong University, and a "Special Advisor on Multiculturalism" of UNESCO. He advocates "returning to classical and nature," and practices the aesthetic principle of "poetry as the soul and calligraphy as the bone." He has made remarkable contributions to the development of Chinese painting, and pioneered the "New Classicism" art movement.
