Personal Profile

Yang Shuyu, also known as Yang Yi, was born in 1974. He is a member of the China Democratic Revolutionary Party, a member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, a director of the Chinese National Painters Association, an executive vice president of the School of Calligraphy at the Chinese Academy of Arts, and has studied at the School of Fine Arts, Tsinghua University, the Art College, Renmin University, and the Chinese Cultural Artists Painting Institute. He is a member of the editorial board of the magazine "China's Calligraphy and Painting Collection Appreciation Investment Situation", and an art director of the "China Art Market Newspaper". His calligraphy works have been exhibited in the 3rd Chinese Calligraphers Association Cursive Script Exhibition, Zhao Mengfu Calligraphy Exhibition, 3rd Lanting Award, 4th Newcomers' Exhibition, 6th Couplets Exhibition, 3rd Fan Surface Exhibition, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th International Art Competitions of Yongle Palace, the 1st Wujibai Feng Cup National Calligraphy Competition (second prize), the Confucius Civilization Cup (bronze award), the first Jia Gu Wen National Competition (third prize), the national "Guoyi Cup" Calligraphy Competition (third prize), the Huang Tingjian Award nomination, the first Qianziwen National Calligraphy Competition (second prize), the first prize of the Henan Provincial United Front Work Department's Art Exhibition, the first Wang Xizhi Running and Grass Script Exhibition, the Jiugong Cheng National Calligraphy Competition (excellent award), "Mowu Shenzhou", "Beilanting", and the National Calligraphy Television Grand Prix.
