Niu Peishun (b. 1957.2) was born in Yuncheng County, Shanxi Province. He moved to Beijing with his mother to join his father at the age of 50 days and has been settled in Beijing since then. He has been passionately devoted to literature and calligraphy since childhood. In the late 1970s, he followed Mr. Ren Jiesheng to start the first calligraphy lecture in Beijing. Later, he studied under Wang Yixin, Xie Deping, and Liu Qian, and became good friends with Huang He, the former Minister of Culture of the Air Force. In 1988, he won the first prize in the "Song of the Dragon" Calligraphy Competition in Beijing City; in 1989, he participated in the exhibition "Baptism of Fire and Blood" hosted by the Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles. In 1990, he won the first prize in calligraphy from the "National Commercial Culture Foundation"; that same year, he received the excellent award in calligraphy from the "Xinhua News Agency Chinese Yearbook". In 1993, he won the excellent award at the "International Chinese Painting Exhibition", and has won more than twenty awards. In 2017, he was awarded the title of "Contemporary Strong Calligrapher and Painter" by the Hong Kong International Auction Co., Ltd., and "Most Investable Figure in the Art Market". In 2018, he wrote 23 characters in one continuous stroke of cursive script, becoming the person who has written the most characters in cursive script in Chinese calligraphy history, and this achievement was certified by the "World Record Association". He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the China International Calligraphers Association; a member of the Board of Directors of the China Calligraphers and Artists Federation; a strategic partner calligrapher of the Cultural Department's Art Talent Database; a Vice Chairman of the Art Committee of the Art Development Center of the China Rural Arts Association; a Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Cadres Network Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute; and a member of the China Poetry Society.
