        Wei Shuyun, male, 1954, member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association;member of the Chinese Seal Calligraphers Association;Beijing Seal Calligraphers Association Councilor;Henan Province Calligraphers Association member;Vice Chairman of Zhenping County Calligraphers Association.  Over the years, Wei Shuyun has consistently studied calligraphy theory and devoted himself to research, exploring its principles and seeking techniques. He extensively imitates ancient masterpieces, practicing day after day for decades without interruption. He insists on learning from the past without being bound by it, absorbing various styles and accumulating the strengths of many masters, thus forming a calligraphy style that is vigorous, simple and solid. He is especially skilled in cursive script, seal script and official script. The cursive script works of Mr. Wei Shuyun are based on cultivation, not following the trend, adhering to rules and with profound skills. Viewing his works, one feels a powerful, rough, slow, thick, dignified, strong, and grand atmosphere. Many experts in the calligraphy world have evaluated his works as having a magnificent and elegant style, grand momentum, natural elegance, stability without being vulgar, danger without being strange, and strong yet not dry. To own a piece of Mr. Wei's calligraphy is a high value collection. It can be hung in the hall or study, and when one has tea and appreciates it leisurely, it is a pleasant and beautiful thing.
