    Dong Tingchao (pseudonym: Yilin), born in Linqing, Shandong, now resides in Beijing. He is a disciple of Ding Jiageng, an outstanding student of the famous art masters Sha Menghai and Ouyang Zhongshi.

◆ 2003, honored with the title of "Artistic Gardener (Mentor)" at the 4th National Art Education Exhibition hosted by the China Education Society and China Education Daily. His personal calligraphy work won the gold prize in the teacher group.

◆ June 2005, honored with the title of "Art Education Master" at the 7th National Art Education Exhibition hosted by the China Education Society and China Education Daily, with his personal calligraphy work winning the gold prize.

That month, he also won the first prize in the ninth issue of "Mobaizhai" "Speak with Strength" Calligraphy and Painting Competition.
