Personal Profile
Song Guozhan, styled Zhonghe, was born in Beijing in 1970. He studied under Mr. Tian Yingzhang, and is a postgraduate student of calligraphy at Renmin University of China. He is an expert member of the Calligrapher Review Committee of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and a senior calligrapher. Song Guozhan has been deeply interested in calligraphy since childhood, and has devoted himself to calligraphy for decades, mainly focusing on the regular script of Ouyang Xun. His running script is learned from Wang Xizhi, Wang Xianzhi, and Zhao Mengfu. He has always adhered to the traditional calligraphy path, forming a powerful calligraphy style.
His calligraphy works have been published in newspapers and periodicals such as "China Surveying and Mapping News", and the Beijing Party publication "Beijing Work". His works have been exhibited and awarded multiple times in the "Capital Culture Festival". He has participated in exhibitions and won awards organized by local authorities and units such as the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, the Beijing Municipal Directly Affiliated Organs Working Committee, the Beijing Municipal Planning and Natural Resources Commission, and Fengtai District. He won the second place in the third level in the 2014 calligraphy competition on the Chinese Regular Script Network.
