Wu Yuanlin, also known as Longren, is the hermit of Tianya. Male, born in 1965. Han nationality, from Guizhou, with a university education. Chinese State Guest Gift Artiste, art consultant of CCTV, member of the Calligraphers' Association of the Central National Organs, senior calligrapher of the state, featured calligrapher of CCTV, academician of the Chinese Video Channel Painting and Calligraphy Academy, calligrapher of the "Moi Danqing" program on China Education Channel. Member of the Academic Committee of the China Foreign and Domestic Famous People Culture Research Association, Vice Chairman of the Art Capital Council of Enterprise News, guest professor of Oxford Art College, and calligrapher of the Red Gouba Gratitude Painting and Calligraphy Academy in Zunyi, Guizhou.
      Since childhood, he has loved calligraphy, and has been diligent in practicing for more than forty years. He takes the ancients as his teachers, follows the orthodox methods of ancient and modern times, and regards famous masters such as Wang Xizhi, Wang Xianzhi, Huaisu, Zhao Mengfu, Ouyang Xun, and Huang Tingjian as his role models. He also studies the essence of contemporary calligraphers. He integrates the ancient and the modern, gradually forming his unique calligraphy style in the long-term learning and creation process. His works are steady and grand, with powerful brushwork. In 1983, he won the first prize in the Guizhou Province's college and vocational school calligraphy competition, and has continued to create ever since. His works were selected for the commemorative postage stamps of the "70th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War" in 2015, and the "95th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China" in 2016. In 2015, he won the gold award in the first Global Chinese Poetry, Painting and Calligraphy Competition. In 2015, he won the gold award in the Global Designer Calligraphy Competition, and the first prize in the Maritime Silk Road Calligraphy Competition. In 2015, he was awarded the title of "Love Calligrapher" by the Hainan Provincial Disabled Persons' Foundation and the Gansu Provincial Disabled Persons' Federation. In 2016, he was voted as "The Most Influential Calligrapher in China" in the online election, and his works were selected for the U.S. National Postage Stamps celebrating the 37th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States. In 2016, he was appointed as a guest professor at Oxford Art College. In October 2016, he participated in the "Commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Long March of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army - Chinese Art Masters' Joint Exhibition of Paintings and Calligraphy".                         In 2016, he was interviewed by the CCTV program "Yi Yuan Xiang Yue". He was appointed as an academician of the "Central Video Channel Painting and Calligraphy Academy". In 2016, he was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the "Enterprise News Art Capital Council" by the Enterprise News. In 2017, his works were included in the limited edition postage stamp album "One Belt, One Road, Chinese Dream". In 2017, he was rated as a Chinese State Guest Gift Artiste. His work "Nian Nu Jiao · Chibi Huai Gu" was selected as a state gift and fired on the "One Belt, One Road · Timeless National Porcelain". In February 2018, he participated in the Chinese Winter Olympic Arts Delegation to South Korea, where a grand painting and calligraphy exhibition was held in Pyeongchang, the venue of the Winter Olympics.
