Sunset, a landscape painter, began learning painting from a young age, and has been diligently working in the field for decades, drawing on the strengths of many masters. In the early 1980s, he studied under professors such as Bai Xueshi, Liang Songnian, and Yao Zhihua from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the China Academy of Painting and Calligraphy via correspondence. By absorbing the essence of masters throughout history, "learning from nature and obtaining the source from within," he has created a series of lofty, ancient, vast, and magnificent landscape paintings with poetic and pure brushwork, which are deeply loved by people and have attracted widespread attention from the domestic and international collecting community. Currently, he is a National First-Class Artist, Academician of the China General and Ministerial Painting and Calligraphy Academy, Vice Chairman of the China Artists Association, member of the Hong Kong Art Association, public welfare painter, member of the National Famous Calligraphy and Painting Arts Circle Federation, and vice president of the China International Art Research Institute. He is also an Outstanding Chinese Artist in the U.S., and a Cultural Exchange Ambassador between the U.S. and China.
