Jia Fenglai, born in Beijing in 1962, graduated from the Chinese Painting Department of China Academy of Art and Design Correspondence University.
He studied under Professor Jiao Kequn from the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He also received guidance from renowned artists Zhang Shijian, Yuan Qiw ei, Chen Xiongli, Li Han, and other esteemed teachers.

Currently, he holds the following positions:
Vice Chairman of the Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Association;
Councillor of the China Calligraphy and Painting Association;
Painter at the China Three Gorges Painting Academy;
Councillor of the Beijing Hushé Painting Society;
Councillor of Zhongyi Painting and Calligraphy Academy;
Councillor of the Beijing Artists Association;
and other organizations such as the Beijing Chaoyang Fine Arts Association.

His works have been collected by the Zhongnanhai, the Great Hall of the People, and the National Flag Guard Unit. His artistic achievements are recorded in the "Contemporary Chinese Painters' Biographical Dictionary," and he has been awarded titles such as "Chinese Charitable Painter." His works have been published in over a hundred newspapers and periodicals including the Beijing Evening News, the People's Daily, the China Calligraphy and Painting Newspaper, and the Hong Kong Nan Hua News. His work has also been reported on by CCTV, Beijing Television, and Beijing People's Radio Station.

In September 2005, he held a solo exhibition at the Chaoyang Art Gallery in Beijing.
In April 2008, he held a solo calligraphy and painting exhibition at the Art Exhibition Hall of the Capital Library.
In May 2014, he held a teacher-student exhibition at the Daguan Art Gallery Museum in Beijing.
