Personal Profile

Zhang Lianzu, male, born in 1957, is from Qingdao, Shandong, and currently resides in Beijing.
He has loved calligraphy since childhood, specializing in Ouyang-style regular script (Ou楷), while also studying other masters to develop his own unique style—learning from models yet transcending them. His Ou-style calligraphy is pure, elegant, and unswayed by trends or superficial techniques. With solid skills and a refined style, he establishes himself as a true artist. His large-character regular script stands out uniquely and is widely appreciated.

His works are collected by numerous art institutions, companies, and individuals. He has frequently been invited to participate in major domestic calligraphy exhibitions, brush gatherings, and has received praise from many circles. In daily life, he actively engages in public welfare activities—donating artworks for the "Focus on Left-Behind Children, Support Teaching in Xishuangbanna" initiative, and often visiting Beijing Nanyuan Welfare Institute to deliver blessings such as Fu characters, Shou characters, and couplets to the elderly.

In 2016, due to saving others at great personal risk, he was widely reported by over 100 national media outlets including People's Daily Online, China Youth Network, Tencent News, China National Radio, News Channel, and Qingdao Civilization Network, earning him the title of "a calligrapher of both virtue and artistry."
