Personal Profile

Yao Kai has been deeply passionate about calligraphy since childhood, diligently studying the regular scripts of Yan Zhenqing and Liu Gongquan, as well as the running and cursive scripts of Wang Xizhi and Wang Xianzhi. He has also spent many years mastering the "Slender Gold" script, achieving both spiritual and physical resemblance while innovating. His brushwork is elegant and firm, deeply capturing the essence of Emperor Huizong’s Slender Gold style, earning him recognition as one of the outstanding contemporary representatives of this script. He is a cultural inheritor of the Slender Gold script, a researcher at the Slender Gold Calligraphy Studio of the China Academy of Painting and Calligraphy, a member of the Shaanxi Province Calligraphers Association, president of Xuanyuan Academy, a signed artist with Beijing Jiali Culture Group, and a committee member of the Jiali Culture Calligraphy Art Committee. His works have won multiple awards in national calligraphy competitions and are collected by numerous companies and individuals both domestically and internationally.
