Personal Profile
Bao Shifan, born in 1953, holds a university degree and is a teacher by profession. He has loved painting and calligraphy since childhood and once studied under renowned artists such as Wang Yingyuan and Yang Youxin. In painting, he has solid skills in sketching and color theory. He emphasizes life experience and has a broad creative perspective, producing numerous outstanding works. His works have participated in exhibitions at municipal and district levels multiple times and have won awards. Believing in the unity of painting and calligraphy, he has devoted many years to studying Han Dynasty clerical script inscriptions, drawing from tradition to develop a unique style. Bao Shifan is humble, diligent, and always eager to learn from others, and his artworks are increasingly mature. His calligraphy has been selected for national, municipal, and district-level exhibitions. Several of his works have been published in various periodicals. His piece "Qinyuan Chun • Snow" was included in the Contemporary Calligraphy and Painting Masters’精品 Collection. One of his Tang poetry works received the Silver Award at the 2015 Milan International Art Exhibition and earned him the Special Contribution Award and Red Culture Award from the China Academy of Calligraphy and Painting. Currently, he is an academician of the China Academy of Calligraphy and Painting, a member of the China Calligraphers and Painters Association, a creator at the Beijing Art Creation Center, a council member of the China Huaxia Ten Thousand Li Travel Calligraphy and Painting Association, and a council member of the Beijing Xuanhe Calligraphy and Painting Art Research Institute. He is also a member of the Heilongjiang Provincial Calligraphers Association.
