Hou Yukun
Hou Yukun, female, born in 1944. A传承师教, she has studied ancient calligraphy models and is especially passionate about Mi Fu's calligraphy. She blends the essence of ancient styles with modern creativity, drawing on the strengths of many masters. After decades of practice, her style is vigorous, bold, fluid, and clear, with a unique personal touch.
Her works have won numerous awards and are collected by people from various fields. For example: Outstanding Award in the 60th Anniversary of the Victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan in October 2005. Gold Award for the 85th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China in March 2006. First Prize for the 19th Anniversary of the State Council Naming Baoding as a Historic and Cultural City. Included in the "Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Masters Collection" at the First National Place Name Culture Exhibition. Gold Award for the 30th Anniversary of Reform and Opening-up in July 2008. Art Award for Contemporary Calligraphers and Painters in Celebration of the Beijing Olympics. Her works are frequently used in luxury hotels, street walls, tourist attractions, and shop signs. In February 2018, she became the only participant to appear on stage at the first Baoding Senior Spring Festival Gala, showcasing her calligraphy. In February 2019, she won Second Prize in the Hebei Division of the Second Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Spring Festival Gala organized in Shijiazhuang. For decades, she has consistently strived for excellence, never ceasing to write and create, earning widespread admiration.
